September 4, 2010 is a day that the family and friends of Nick Oaks will never forget; the day that his life ended and his memory was the only thing that would continue to live. Nick lived twenty years, and for those who had the pleasure of knowing him, those twenty years of life were not nearly enough. There is not a day that goes by, a flock of geese that fly over, or a hunt that happens without the memory of Nick playing over in the minds those who loved him. Nick had a passion for life that most people could only dream about, and a passion for waterfowling that was almost unbelievable. Nick is survived by a wonderful and loving family and a large group of great friends who are some of the most avid up and coming waterfowlers in the state of Colorado.
For the people that knew Nick, life is forever changed, and here at Stillwater, it has been a loss of a friend, a brother and a fellow waterfowler. Nick will forever live on in our memories and our hearts. It is said that when you die, the energy that kept you alive filters into the people you loved. It’s like a fire you’ve tended all your life and the sparks are all scattered into the wind…That is why people survive as long as they do, because the people who loved them keep them going.
With a big thank you for the gracious donation of two acrylic calls from Jeff Foiles of Foiles Migrators, Stillwater Outfitters will be auctioning them off with all proceeds going to the family of Nick Oaks.
